Everything about our MSc

Aim

This study programme aims to provide a wealth of knowledge, skills and abilities combining the technical-engineering and biological dimensions of natural, environmental and land resources management, with a view to achieving ecological transition goals.

Main characteristics of the course

The course of study is centered on three areas of expertise, strongly interconnected:

  1. supporting policies to enhance and increase ecosystem services;
  2. developing landscape design and planning with nature-based solutions;
  3. monitoring and remediating the state of health of environmental compartments.

The MSc in Sustainable Natural Resource Management is strongly practice-oriented, as teaching activities are not made only of lectures but also of interdisciplinary practical laboratories. Over the two-year period of study, students allocate a minimum of 30 credits (ECTS) to laboratories. On top of this, 24 ECTS are devoted to the thesis project.

Students can choose at least two interdisciplinary practical laboratories from a list of six. The laboratories are about water and territory management, forests and soil management and restoration, environmental monitoring and remediation.

Which labs?

First-year lab to be chosen from:

  • A.1 - Ecological and forest restoration
  • B.1 - Green infrastructures and nature-based solutions
  • C.1 - Environmental systems and anthropic impact

Second-year lab to be chosen from:

  • A.2 - Forest management and planning
  • B.2 - Agricultural water management
  • C.2 - Bioremediation

Composition rule:
the lab of the second year must be chosen from those marked with a different letter than the one chosen in the first year
